It would start on my birthday.

lol. just have an Orthodox faschnaut day/birthday extravaganza.

for the non Pennsylvanians in the audience…i.e. like, all of you, faschnaut day is the South-German answer to Mardi Gras.  you use up all the fat and sugar in your pantry (can’t eat them during Lent) by making a shit-ton of doughnuts and then getting plastered while people dance around dressed like teutonic deities in order to celebrate not yet having to celebrate the rebirth/resurrection of Adonis-Tammuz Dionysius Orpheus Mithras Sol Invictus Christ.  Unfortunately for the Pennsylvanian tourism industry, there are a lot more cutesy home-made pictures of geese and a lot fewer exposed tits involved in the holiday than in its southern cousin.  I stand by the doughnut making custom, though, even though the Deutsch all came to PA later and didn’t really intermarry with the Anglo-Celtic Quakers in my family’s case.  I still learned a few mixed-language children’s songs and learned to appreciate the cooking before Jebus called my parents and told them to move to Bumfuck Arkansas to do battle against teh ghey and women’s lib.
